HOW DO THEY DRINK PU-ERH IN CHINA?
There is a huge difference between how we used to drink shu Pu'er and how they drink it in China. Communicating with people, I have heard more than once that the tea they bought when brewing is not black enough (blacklivematter)
There have been and still are people who demand that pu-erh be with a bright aroma of earth, fish and other exotics. Well, they also say that Pu-erh is needed so that it is tart, like batin moonshine, otherwise this softness in pu-erh is neither for the village nor for the city. So, there are a lot of conclusions, but still the picture of needs in Russia is approximately clear. Our people are used to or like to drink pu-erh blacker than oil, so that it stretches like resin from a bowl and is rougher in taste. And what is there in China?
And there it's just the opposite. When you taste pu-erh in a store or shop, then tea with the color of brandy-colored infusion gets into your bowl. Yes, they will not understand this here, but in China this is how pu-erh is brewed, it is very easy and it turns out to be light. There is a completely different attitude to this tea, they talk a lot about the beneficial properties of Pu-erh, its effects and very weakly (in our view) it is brewed.
The first time I saw this, I thought that maybe in this store the seller brewed so weakly. After that I realized that tea is brewed like this everywhere and I had to ask to hold tea in gayvan for a little longer to understand what it would be like with our Russian brewing. Some Chinese looked at me with great surprise when they heard this request and perhaps for the first time in their lives they tried such a strong pu-erh) It seems to me that most fans of Pu-erh would refuse to drink this, they say, what kind of water are you offering me? But in China, they drink and feel all the shades of taste and quality of tea.
And here I am sitting at the tea table and I think: how many people once tried hard-brewed pu-erh, after which they decided that Chinese tea was not their topic and such tea scared them away? And someone may have had quite the opposite.
